All 7th graders (beginning 2024) and incoming freshman (9th graders) are accepted via a lottery system, in accordance with A.R.S. § 15-184(A). Applications for the lottery system will not be accepted before the date shown on our school events calendar (usually the first school day of September).

Incoming Freshman (9th) and 7th Graders –

Enrollment Application Steps:

  1. Download, complete, and submit the Enrollment Application by the date shown on the school calendar (usually the first school day of September) of the student’s 8th grade year for our high school and 6th grade year for our middle school. Current TCP 8th grades do not need to apply for high school admission.
  2. Applications can be brought in person or emailed to office@tricityprep.org. Applications are marked with date and time received for wait list priority if applicable.
  3. Up to three lottery drawings are held each school year, beginning in October, in accordance with the school event calendar. You will be informed of your selection status via our notification letter.

  1. If you are selected in the lottery, submit the Registration Enrollment Packet with all documents by the deadline on notification letter.
  2. If you are not selected in the lottery, the applicant will automatically be placed in the next available lottery. Once the lottery process is complete, the applicant is placed on a waiting list according to the date and time on the Enrollment Application.

Once you receive notice that your child has been drawn, you need to bring in the registration enrollment packet with all the required documents by the deadline given.

The Registration Enrollment Packet will include items such as:  

  • Documentation of your child’s birth date (In accordance with ARS 15-828(A), parents/guardians have 30 days to submit proof of age documentation.)
  • Transcripts are requested for any transferring student who needs credit for courses already taken for streamlining attendance and correct course placement.
    • not needed for middle school or freshman not wanting to transfer credits.
  • Vaccination Records
  • Proof of residency
  • Custody or legal guardianship papers (as applicable)

Failure to complete items on the above checklist may result in your child’s registration enrollment package not being accepted as complete, restricting attendance and/or creating delays in continuation of services.

Enrolling a Sibling

Per A.R.S. 15-184(B), A charter school can give enrollment preference to siblings of pupils already enrolled in the charter school.

  1. Download, complete, and submit the Enrollment Application and the Registration Enrollment Packet with all documents before the 1st drawing. This may allow automatic enrollment, forgoing the lottery process.
  2. If the enrollment Application and the Registration Enrollment Packet are received after the 1st drawing, the student may be placed into the lottery system.
  3. If student is not drawn in the lottery, they will be placed on the waiting list according to the date on the Enrollment Application.

Re-Enrollment for Returning Students

Current students are required to re-enroll each year in accordance with A.R.S. §§ 15-184 (B).

  1. Complete the re-enrollment handout given to students in the spring by deadline given on the school event calendar.
  2. If you have moved since initially enrolling, please provide proof of your new residence, ie. utility bill, phone bill, driver’s license.
  3. If your student did not receive any new immunizations or boosters this year, you will not need to provide proof of immunization. Parents will be asked to sign an exemption form for any missing immunizations.
  4. If not submitted in the timeframe listed in Step #1, the student may be withdrawn from TCP after the last day of the current school year.

Enrollment Into Grades 10, 11, 12 in accordance with A.R.S. § 15-184(A)

  1. Download, complete, and submit the Enrollment Application and include current transcript if possible.
  2. The student applicant will be put on the waiting list according to the date on the Enrollment Application.
  3. If/when an opening occurs, the next group of 5 students on the waiting list will be called. The first student to bring in a completed Registration Enrollment Packet and transcripts to the office (if possible), and needs classes where TCP has availability (space) will be accepted.
  4. Students who do not wish to be considered for enrollment at the time an opening occurs will be moved to the bottom of the waiting list.

Enrollment Into Grades: 8 in accordance with A.R.S. § 15-184(A)

  1. Download, complete, and submit the Enrollment Application.
  2. The student is put on the waiting list according to the date on the Enrollment Application.
  3. If/when an opening occurs, the next group of 5 students on the waiting list will be called. The first student to bring in a completed Registration Enrollment Packet to the office, and needs classes where TCP has availability (space) will be accepted.
