If you need to reinstall Windows on your laptops you may follow the instructions in the PDF below. Please note that the steps are slightly different for different manufacturers and different versions of Windows.
Reinstall Windows from a USB PDF
This method is the recommended “gold standard” because it provides the cleanest and most reliable reset of the computer.
If that process feels too complicated, you can instead perform a Windows System Reset using the steps below. However, in Step 4 you MUST select “Remove everything.” If you do not, you may not be able to sign into the computer afterward.
- Open Settings
- Select System from the left sidebar
- Click Recovery on the right
- Under “Recovery options,” click Reset PC
- Select Remove everything
- Choose either Cloud download or Local reinstall
- (Optional) Click Change settings and enable Clean data for a more secure wipe
- Click Next, then Reset to begin
